The Pool Doctor is a family-owned business proudly serving the community since 1989. What began as a small operation built on determination and hard work has grown into a full-service pool company, trusted for quality craftsmanship, honest service, and long-term care. Today, we continue that tradition with the same values that built our reputation from the very beginning.
Carrying the Figueroa legacy forward.
The Pool Doctor was founded in 1989 by Ralph Figueroa III, who started the business with little more than a vision, determination, and a commitment to doing things the right way. Operating out of a two-car garage at the family home, he built the company through dedication, consistency, and strong ties to the local community.
At the same time, his wife Donna carried on her own family legacy by running their restaurant, instilling in their children the importance of hard work, responsibility, and serving others. The Pool Doctor quickly became a true family effort. In 2008, after the tragic loss of Ralph III, Ralph IV stepped into leadership with a commitment to honoring his father’s vision while continuing to grow the business. Today, Ralph Figueroa IV leads The Pool Doctor alongside his wife, Shannon, who plays a key role in managing store operations and ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. Together, they form a dedicated team committed to delivering professional service with a personal touch. The Pool Doctor would not be what it is today without the leadership and care of both of them.
Meet the owner.
The Pool Doctor is led today by Ralph Figueroa, who proudly continues the legacy his father began. Growing up in the business, Ralph spent his summers cleaning pools and learning every part of pool care firsthand, developing a strong work ethic and deep respect for customer service. Under his leadership, the company expanded into a full-service operation with a storefront and a professional service team to better support customers year-round. Outside of work, Ralph enjoys spending time outdoors by the water, making memories with his family, and staying connected to the local community. He also plays in a band called Pet Rock, assists in managing his family’s restaurant alongside his mother and sisters, and had worked as a DJ for several years— experiences that reflect his energetic, people-focused personality and commitment to local business. These same values guide the way he leads The Pool Doctor, with an emphasis on honesty, reliability, and treating every customer like family.
